Do this activity and

INTRODUCTION

The United States offers many possibilities of travel and adventure. As you have seen in your course book, there are amazing photographs from touristic locations. With this activity, you can find information about other destinations in the USA and about what you can do once there.

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Open this document to answer the questions. Print it out to hand in or email it to your teacher.
  2. Go to the USA TOURIST website and choose US Cities from the top menu.
  3. Look at the map and click on the city of Washington DC.
  4. Browse down the page and find the answers to the questions in this document. You don't need to understand all the words. Use The Richmond Electronic dictionary.

QUESTIONS:

  1. How many airports does Washington DC have?
  2. Name four major free attractions that you can visit.
  3. Go back to the previous page and look in the map to find the name of the three cities to the north of Washington DC.
FURTHER PRACTICE:
  1. Go back to the main page of the USA TOURIST website.
  2. Choose one set of photographs from the Photo Gallery.
  3. Choose one photograph in one destination and describe what you would write on a postcard to your friends. Imagine you are there and write about ten lines.

INTRODUCTION

Supermarkets often use tricks to make you buy more. Today you are going to watch a video from an expert who tells you what these tricks are.

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Open this document to answer the questions. Print it out to hand in or email it to your teacher.
